Get the skills you need to move up to construction management.

The need for construction managers is increasing, and here in the rapidly growing Lowcountry, construction jobs are always in demand.

The S.C. annual mean wage for construction occupations is $44,460. Pay increases substantially with skills and experience. For example, the median annual wage for first-line construction supervisors is $66,160. Construction managers earn around $97,680, according to 2021 reports from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Program

The  Construction Management Certificate covers all phases of management from site layout to finishing construction. Topics include bidding, contracts, specifications, estimating, print reading, and building codes.

TCL’s hands-on program emphasizes environmental resistant construction codes, giving you the skills you need now and for years to come. “Green” building techniques are highlighted, as outlined by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) principles.

TCL’s 22-credit-hour certificate program can be completed in as little as two semesters, or choose to take a course as it fits into your already busy schedule. Evening classes are offered.

ACCREDITATION

Technical College of the Lowcountry is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Tuition: 22 credits x $214 per credit = $4,708.
